ABS

The plastics material which has, in particular impact strength at low temperatures. It has higher mechanical strength and thermal resistance than HIPS. ABS plates are characterized by high hardness, elasticity and resistance to scratches. It is easy, however, undergo a mechanical treatment and heat, so we can use this material in many areas. Available as an unspoilt, made of recycled, produced from raw material from recycling, as well as co-extrusion with other materials eg. PMMA / Plexiglas. So it offers a number of interesting properties of expanding the area of its application.

Properties ABS:

  • Ease of thermoforming and machining plates
  • Very good chemical resistance
  • Resistance to cracks and scratches
  • high quality surface of the plate, relatively resistant to scratches
  • high surface hardness and high impact strength at low temperatures exceed those of HIPS four or even five times
  • a wide range of panels with different modified degree of impact strength and stiffness
  • high softening point
  • high capacity to maintain its form for higher temperatures (higher than HIPS)
  • good chemical resistance (higher than HIPS)
  • High toughness (the amount of impact energy that the material can take without breaking) even at low temperatures
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Good insulation properties
  • Ease of machining
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Lack of resistance to light and UV radiation
  • Lack of resistance to concentrated mineral acids, organic solvents such as esters, ketones, chlorinated
  • hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons
  • Low weight
  • High abrasion resistance, rigidity
  • Hassle-free recycling

The use of ABS:

  • elements of machines and equipment enclosures
  • Vehicle interior fittings
  • transport pallets
  • suitcases and traveling trunks and utilities
  • wide variety of containers
  • the toy industry
  • in the furniture industry (furniture hospital facilities, hairdressers and beauty salons) and office furniture components, such as:
  • chairs, cupboards and drawers
  • in the electrical industry it is used for housing various electronic devices, such as:
  • card readers, cash registers, televisions, etc.
